Hello Royalty
It feels like forever! The last post here on the blog was on the 17th of April, and I am happy – super happy – to write to you again. I hope you’re also happy to read from me. Today’s post was inspired by historical movies. I watched one recently, and I thought to myself, “Wow this says so much”. What do I mean?
History has so many beautiful stories. Some stories are terrifying too. But what I realized recently is that when these stories are made into movies, even though the movie makers already know what is going to happen at the end of the movie, they take the audience through the step-by-step process of the characters’ lives. Now, you probably know where I’m getting at. Also, look at it this way: sometimes, when you watch a historical movie for the first time, you already know the story from research or something someone told you. Despite that, you stay through the movie knowing how it will turn out, but intrigued by the characters’ journey. Sometimes, the only reason you sit through the movie is because subconsciously, that person’s celebrated prowess only makes sense when you understand his/her process.
Now, let’s bring it home. Our lives as believers has an end in mind. The Scriptures tell us that God has planned the best for us. Sometimes, we are convinced of this ourselves. We know from His promises that He has planned “this and that” with us based on our fellowship with Him. But the journey is where it all goes down. Like the lives of those reenacted characters in historical movies, we begin to have our own share of ups, downs, the antagonist that never wanted the main character to succeed, the mistakes the protagonist made, and all of the step-by-step decisions that lead up to the desired end.
As long as we are living, Royalty, we are always in phases. Some of these phases will be phases of celebration, some will be phases of waiting and trusting, some will be phases of investing in others, some will be phases of investing in yourself, but whatever phase you are in, understand that it is all part of the bigger picture, and it is NECESSARY for your bigger picture to be beautiful and complete. I used to describe myself at some point as “history in the making”, and it was not until I took a step back to understand the idea of historical movies that I realized how that really resonates with life.
